Medina dijo que las autoridades están revisando el video y aunque existen varias hipótesis sobre los autores del ataque, es muy prematuro para tener información más concreta. El gobernador Medina oficializó, al momento, en 52 el número de mueros como consecuencia del incendio en el casino. Además, dijo que ya se giraron órdenes de presentación para los que aparecen como propietarios o representantes legales del casino para deslindar responsabilidades. Por su parte, el secretario de Gobernación, Francisco Blake Mora, afirmó que se actuará con toda la fuerza del Estado y el máximo despliegue para dar con los responsables del "cobarde atentado" ocurrido en el casino Royale.
