I take you with me in my Niemas Racecars workshop to dive with you into my 1/24 slotcar project of the AEG Sauber-Mercedes C9 of the 1988 LeMans 24h race. The car should have a very realistic look and should have a good handling. I combine the Tamiya kit with a BR-Chassis F512/F612. This is Part 5 of a build up series and the main topic in this video is the wheel making. I went extremely into detail and used finally specially made tire stickers from Slotfabrik. Ace Rothstein and Nicky Santoro, mobsters who move to Las Vegas to make their mark, live and work in this paradoxical world. Seen through their eyes, each as a foil to the other, the details of mob involvement in the casinos of the 1970s and '80s are revealed. Ace is the smooth operator of the Tangiers casino, while Nicky is his boyhood friend and tough strongman, robbing and shaking down the locals. It was the first release on Rolling Stones Records, and was distributed through Atco Records, as part of a new deal with Atlantic Records. Propelled by lead single “Brown Sugar,” which preceded it by a week, the album followed the single to Number One around the world. As the opening gambit of a new and decisive chapter in the Rolling Stones’ story, it was an accomplished and eclectic sign of things to come. “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking” is arguably the album’s centerpiece. Pitting the Stones’ savage, strutting rock ’n’ roll against a loose, fiery display of artistry, it laid the groundwork for the musical adventuring the Stones would embark on throughout the 70s. “It’s very high for me,” Jagger would say, “and I remember saying, ‘Oh, this is not really my key, but I’ll try. I did lots of harmonies to hide the fact I didn’t really hit the notes that great in the chorus.” Richards described writing the guitar riff: "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" came out flying – I just found the tuning and the riff and started to swing it and Charlie picked up on it just like that, and we're thinking, hey, this is some groove. So it was smiles all around. For a guitar player it's no big deal to play, the chopping, staccato bursts of chords, very direct and spare. Taylor recalled in a 1979 interview: "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" ... is one of my favourites ... [The jam at the end] just happened by accident; that was never planned. Towards the end of the song I just felt like carrying on playing. Everybody was putting their instruments down, but the tape was still rolling and it sounded good, so everybody quickly picked up their instruments again and carried on playing. It just happened, and it was a one-take thing. A lot of people seem to really like that part. “I think this track’s really interesting,” Mick Jagger once conceded. “We’ve never done anything else like it since.” Lyrics: Yeah, you got satin shoes Yeah, you got plastic boots Y'all got cocaine eyes Yeah, you got speed-freak jive, now Can't you hear me knockin' on your window?
